What Does Your Event Actually Need?

You do not need to know which speakers, microphones, or lights to request before we talk. These are the questions I use to understand the venue, the crowd, and the experience you are trying to create, so I can recommend what will actually make a difference.

01 Will everyone be able to hear the important moments?
A speaker playing music is not always enough. Ceremonies, speeches, presentations, and announcements may need wireless microphones and carefully placed speakers so guests in the back can hear just as clearly as the people up front.
02 Is the sound system sized for the venue and crowd?
A backyard gathering, banquet room, ballroom, and outdoor festival do not need the same setup. I look at the guest count, layout, acoustics, noise restrictions, and where people will gather before recommending the sound system.
03 What kind of lighting will work in the space?
Uplighting can add color and depth when there are walls, columns, or architectural features to illuminate. Open outdoor spaces may benefit more from directional dance-floor lighting. I recommend lighting based on the room, not simply the highest package.
04 Who will actually be your DJ?
You will work directly with me from the first conversation through the event. You are not booking through a directory and waiting to find out which available DJ will be assigned later.
05 Do you need a playlist, or someone who can read the room?
Your favorite songs, must-plays, and do-not-plays give me the direction. From there, I watch how the crowd responds and adjust the music in real time instead of forcing everyone through a rigid, preset playlist.
06 Will there be musicians, singers, speakers, or presentations?
Guest singers, live musicians, award presenters, and keynote speakers may need additional microphones, inputs, monitors, or live sound support. Identifying those needs early prevents rushed changes on the event day.
07 Does the photographer or videographer need clean audio?
Depending on the setup, I can coordinate with your video team on microphone placement or available audio feeds for vows, speeches, performances, and other important moments. This should be discussed before the event rather than during setup.
08 Are there enough time, space, and power for the setup?
Separate ceremony and reception locations, limited electrical access, tight load-in windows, weather exposure, and unusual floor plans can all affect production. I account for those details before the event so the setup is ready before guests arrive.
